I've always wondered how humans could actually come together to do something really big and important when the time came....like now.

On the one hand, we have better ways to communicate across physical, language, and cultural barriers than ever before. On the other, with hundreds of cable channels, zillions of blogs, and daily newspapers in decline, where do we go for information that helps us focus together on what needs to be done? How do we become part of a common story, when everyone gets customized information?

Well, here's a start: Yesterday, in an unprecedented act of global advocacy, 56 newspapers in 45 countries published the same editorial, calling on world leaders to take decisive action in Copenhagen.

"We call on the representatives of the 192 countries gathered in Copenhagen not to hesitate, not to fall into dispute, not to blame each other but to seize opportunity from the greatest failure of modern politics," the editorial said. Some papers even published it on their front page.
