Businesses Back Senate Clean Energy Bill

Businesses are leading the fight to pass climate change legislation — including a Senate bill introduced Wednesday that would aggressively cut greenhouse gases — said Jim Hanna, director of environmental impact for Starbucks.  Both Starbucks and Nike are founding members of a business group formed last year to lobby for climate change legislation and green energy: BICEP, which stands for Business for Climate & Energy Policy.  The group — whose members include Levi Strauss & Co., Sun Microsystems, Symantec, eBay and Gap Inc. — applauded the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act introduced Wednesday, calling it landmark legislation.
