Job growth in Oregon's clean-energy sector (including both renewable energy development and energy efficiency upgrades) has been five times stronger than overall job growth in the state. In fact, energy-efficiency programs have stimulated a $76 million increase in Oregon's wages and $11 million in new business income for the state since 2002.
"JOBS" pins have flooded the Oregon Capitol in Salem. These little lapel pins, which simply say "JOBS," worn by legislators and lobbyists, progressives and conservatives alike, serve as a constant reminder that everyone wants this to be a jobs session and everyone wants their bills to be jobs bills.
