Kicking our addiction to foreign oil means lower fuel costs for families and businesses, more transportation options and improved competition, cleaner air and water, energy self-sufficiency and jobs -- jobs created here at home for Americans.
I bought my first car, a 1962 Ford Falcon, from my folks in 1976. That
year, gas was 60 cents a gallon. This month, the average gas price in
Oregon is $3.97. That's almost a dollar higher than the same time last
year.
