Solar panels to help power Qwest Field

The Seattle Seahawks, Sounders FC and First and Goal Inc. (FGI) announced today they will install the largest solar energy array to date in the state of Washington on the roof of Qwest Field Event Center.

Time to prepare your "but the sun never shines in Seattle" jokes, because the Seahawks and Sounders are planning on using solar panels to help power the Qwest Field Events Center. The plan is for 3,750 solar panels to be installed on the roof of the events center, generating the equivalent of 95 houses worth of electricity per year.
