Smart Grid Oregon will host the First SGO Pacific Northwest Smart Grid Trade Show and Conference, April 21

Smart Grid Oregon, a trade association launched in 2009 to promote regional leadership in smart grid technology implementation and the growth of the industry, is partnering with the 2011 InnoTech Oregon Conference and Expo, the largest business-to-business information technology conference in Oregon and SW Washington, to present the first SGO Pacific Northwest Smart Grid Trade Show & Conference. The event will be the region’s first trade show and conference on smart grid technology, complete with booths and exhibits from key companies in the smart grid arena, as well as conference sessions led by industry experts.

The event, to be held at the Oregon Convention Center, will give conference and trade show attendees the chance to meet and hear from key people in organizations, such as the Northwest Energy Alliance, PECI, the National Electric Sector Cybersecurity Organization, Portland General Electric, IRZ Consulting, Central Lincoln PUD, the City of Port Angeles Department of Public Works & Utilities, the Bonneville Power Authority, Avista, EnergySec, QualityLogic, and the Oregon Institute of Technology.

Smart Grid Oregon is dedicated to promoting the building and marketing of smart grid products and services, as well as helping public and utility officials, regulators, legislators, city and county governments, and other stakeholders in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest Region gain a better understanding of the smart grid and policy decisions that must be made in the coming years. “A visionary public policy is a critical factor in achieving our goals,” said former Oregon Secretary of State and the Founding Chair of Smart Grid Oregon.

Conference sessions and trade show exhibitions offer opportunities for learning, collaboration and networking by organizations and individuals engaged in or anticipating the deployment of smart grid technologies, programs, and services that will fundamentally transform the regional power delivery system. It will provide business-oriented presentations and discussions on technologies, industry standards, business models, and marketplace dynamics that address the needs of product and service vendors, as well as consumers of these products and services. The conference will be of particular interest to vendors, purchasing agents, executives, and other officials responsible for the successful deployment of the smart grid and smart grid enabled equipment, such as electric vehicles, smart meters, distributed energy systems, and energy monitoring services. Attendees will include utilities, public agencies, aggregators and integrators, engineers, and software and IT experts.
