Kitsap County's weatherization grants, part of President Barack Obama's $787 billion Recovery Act package, seem to have accomplished what they set out to do: Increase the number of weatherized homes and jobs.
Since 2009, Kitsap County has received more than $4 million in grants to reduce the carbon footprint of homes and train the workforce to make it happen.
