New TV Ad Campaign in Washington Thanks Senators Cantwell and Murray for Standing Up for Clean Energy and Defeating Murkowski’s Big Oil Bailout
A series of new ads are being launched this week to thank Senators Cantwell and Murray and other key Senators who helped defeat the disapproval resolution sponsored by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Ala.).

WASHINGTON (June 14, 2010) – A series of new ads are being launched this week to thank Senators Cantwell and Murray and other key Senators who helped defeat the disapproval resolution sponsored by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Ala.). The ads, paid for by Clean Energy Works, call on the Senators and their colleagues to “keep standing up to Big Oil and fighting for America’s clean energy future.”
The initial set of ads will be running in six states and will praise the following Senators: Bennet (Co.); Cantwell (Wash.); Levin (Mich.); McCaskill (Mo.); Murray (Wash.); Reid (Nev.); Stabenow (Mich.); Warner (Va.); and Webb (Va.). More ads will be coming in the days ahead.
These ads will run in conjunction with ads by Americans United and other groups that will call out Senators who chose to let Big Oil and other polluters off the hook by recklessly voting in favor of Murkowski’s flawed resolution.
The Clean Energy Works ads also send a strong message that now is the time for the U.S. Senate to move forward with comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation. As many comments by Senators last week indicate, there is support from both sides of the aisle for action that would hold corporate polluters accountable, and help create more clean energy, more jobs, and reduce carbon pollution.
