NewEarth Renewable Energy Inc. uses proprietary technologies to develop and produce alternatives to fossil fuels
NewEarth Renewable Energy Inc. is a Northwest Company committed to strong action to reduce global warming pollution and a rapid transition to a clean and energy efficient economy. It is using proprietary technologies to develop and produce both solid and liquid alternatives to fossil fuels derived from sustainable biomass. The biomass is derived entirely from short rotation energy crops that are not planted on lands used for food production.

NewEarth’s two primary products: E-Coal, and E-Oil, are developed from the ECO-Pyro Torrefaction (EPT) technology, and are being marketed for use in the utility, transportation, metal manufacturing, and specialty chemical industries. Climate Solutions and Clean Edge identified sustainable biomass as a core opportunity for the region in our Carbon Free Prosperity 2025 report, released in October, 2008.
E-Coal is a new flex fuel alternative to fossil coal that uses 100% sustainable biomass. E-Coal was specifically designed to help coal-burning power plants meet their mandatory emissions reductions immediately. Using its E-Coal technology, NewEarth believes that any coal-fired electric power station can immediately reduce its CO2 and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by directly co-firing E-Coal with fossil coal or by totally replacing fossil coal with E-Coal without any retrofitting, loss of productivity, down time, or service to customers. New Earth certifies that E-Coal is made from sustainably grown crops cultivated on degraded land (not farmland for food) or from various forms of organic waste.
E-Oil is also a biomass product (using mostly cellulosic based biomass, not from food crops) liquid flex fuel alternative to fossil oil. E-Oil can be used without any additional refinement for electric power generation at facilities that currently use petroleum/ fossil oil. With additional refinement, E-Oil can be made into several forms of liquid transportation fuel, such as bio-diesel (for trains, trucks, cars, sea vessels, etc.), bio-jet fuel (commercial and military grade), and bio-gas (for all types of passenger vehicles).
NewEarth has completed pilot testing and is seeking funding for its first production scale facility. It is also negotiating agreements for cost-effective, and sustainable, biomass and for the use of its fuels.
