Montana Business Leaders for Clean Energy
Landing page
The time to act is now!
We invite business leaders in Montana to call on policymakers to support building clean energy industries and jobs in Montana. Clean energy is the growth sector of the 21st Century and is profoundly
influenced by public policy. The emerging clean-energy economy is a
real opportunity for Montana to be a leader in building and expanding
companies, creating new and sustainable jobs that will enable our
children to have good paying jobs right here at home, and keeping
energy affordable and reliable. Wind, solar, biofuels, “smart grids,”
energy efficiency, and other clean-energy technologies and sectors are
poised for explosive growth. But, we need the right policies now that
reward innovation to maximize growth potential for investors and
entrepreneurs in our region.
If you're a private sector business leader, please consider signing this Letter to Montana Policymakers.

Linking Northwest Leaders to National Efforts.
One of our key goals is providing ways for regional leaders to
efficiently lend their voices and expertise to the national discussion
about a clean energy future. Here are two strategic efforts that we
are partnering with and are closely aligned with our principles. Members of MBLCE will be automatically enrolled in these efforts, unless you let us know that you would like to opt out.
American Businesses for Clean Energy
(ABCE) is an initiative to demonstrate large and small business support
for Congressional enactment of clean energy and climate legislation
that will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. ABCE's goal is
to create a single place on the web where individual companies and
business organizations can register their support for Congressional
action, and to demonstrate the depth and breadth of business support
for this legislation.
Clean Economy Network Foundation
(CEN) is a national network dedicated to educating and engaging leaders
in the clean economy and sharing information about policies and
opportunities for job creation and investment. CEN has recently joined
with the Renewable Energy Business Network to build a stronger platform
for national engagement. We played a key role in founding CEN and help
lead the Pacific Northwest Chapter.

The Two-Year, Nine-Million-Jobs Investment Plan
Because the private building sector represents 93% of total U.S. building stock, the private building sector is the key to reviving the U.S. economy.
Strategically investing $192.47 billion ($96.235 billion each year for
two years) in the private building sector will create, in just two
years, over 9 million new jobs and $1 trillion in direct, non-federal investment and spending while opening up a new $236 billion renovation market that could grow to $2.6 trillion by 2030 and over $5.47 trillion
by 2069. This Investment plan pays for itself annually through the new
tax base created and can be implemented quickly through existing
federal programs.
Green Building Creates Jobs that Save Energy and Money
With a President and an administration that understands the importance
of 'green' to our economy, newly-release studies represent some
positive news for the U.S. economy. Economic experts from both sides of
the aisle are calling for a recovery plan focused on green jobs and
infrastructure, as consumers look to live in more economically
sustainable homes, and businesses strive to cut operating costs.
