Olivia Ashmoore
former Intern, Strategic Innovation Program

Bio

Olivia spent summer 2015 as an intern with Climate Solutions’ Strategic Innovation Program. She is a senior at Oberlin College, where she is majoring in Environmental Studies and Politics. She is originally from the California Bay Area.

Olivia loves learning about all things related to fossil fuels and climate change, and has been particularly fascinated by hydraulic fracturing and shale gas extraction policy.  This interest led her to a variety of projects, including work with Oberlin’s Students for Energy Justice, a student position on the Oberlin Committee for Environmental Sustainability; an internship with the Center for Biological Diversity; and a research position studying shale gas in news media with an Oberlin professor.  She is eager to apply her knowledge of energy policy to her work at Climate Solutions, and is especially excited about the New Energy Cities program.

Olivia’s passion for working on environmental issues stems from experiences hiking and backpacking in California.  She leaps at any chance to get others excited about being outside and worked in environmental education in the Point Reyes National Seashore, led backpacking trips, and worked as a coordinator for her school's outings club.
