In a comprehensive analysis of U.S. clean energy and clean transportation jobs, Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) found that more than 2.5 million Americans now work in clean energy at businesses across all 50 states. These are workers who install solar panels, manufacture electric vehicle parts, and retrofit our homes, schools, and businesses to make them more energy-efficient. They build wind turbine blades, invent battery technologies, and assemble the most energy-efficient kitchen appliances on the planet.
This first-of-its-kind analysis was completed for E2 in late 2015 by the research team at BW Research Partnership. It is based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S Department of Energy and was done in conjunction with partners Clean Energy Trust, The Solar Foundation, and Advanced Energy Economy. BW Research surveyed more than 20,000 businesses nationwide as part of the study.
