Participants learn about transportation choices, green construction, energy conservation, reuse and recycling, solar energy, local food and gardening, and cost-effective sustainability practices.
New this year – a Book-Movie-Music swap!
This event was first created in 2008 by a consortium of Tacoma/Pierce County higher education institutions. The colleges and universities created a student-based Sustainability Summit which took place on Friday, followed by a community-wide Expo on Saturday. Both events were hosted by a different schools for first three years. Since the City of Tacoma’s creation of the Office of Sustainability in 2010, the Expo has been sponsored and held at the Tacoma Convention Center.
Political groups and signature collecting will not be allowed.
