As we adjust to the upheaval of staying home and keeping ourselves and others healthy, we also need to adjust how we connect with each other and the core ways we can keep moving forward on the path to a better future. While being physically apart, we can still come together for solutions.
We have an urgent opportunity for this place we love. Now more than ever as we experience climate impacts, it is clear we need to accelerate the transition to 100% clean and efficient energy in our region and beyond. With the temporary reprieve from smog, we get a small taste of what a 100% clean future could look like. We need solutions like 100% clean electricity for our grid, cleaner fuels and electrification to power our transportation, and clean and energy savvy buildings where we work and live. With your help, we can accelerate the transition to a clean energy future.
To raise the funds to do this critical work, Climate Solutions would typically bring people together in person to raise money at our spring signature events. Instead, we are taking our efforts online by launching Solutions Together.
Solutions Together is a multi-week fundraising campaign launching on May 5th with many opportunities for folks to contribute and to help accelerate the path to a 100% clean energy future. You can donate personally, and you can also become a fundraising leader by creating a personal fundraising page and inviting others to come together too (more info coming soon).
The keystone to Solutions Together is our online event, Climate Leaders Live: Building a Clean Energy Future Together on Tuesday, May 19th at 11 a.m. PST. Join our conversation about how we can further solutions to the climate crisis during this challenging time of the COVID pandemic. What do the intersections of investing in public health, lowering barriers to technology, and cultivating strong political leadership for climate action look like? We hope you can join us for the conversation featuring leaders Dr. Lucas Joppa, the Chief Environmental Officer at Microsoft and the architect of Microsoft’s global climate commitment, Washington State Representative and Speaker of the House Laurie Jinkins, and our Executive Director, Gregg Small.
Please RSVP here to tune in for the 11 a.m. Climate Leaders Live event.
This is the first time we have ever held a fundraising event virtually, and we are excited about offering new ways to connect with you.
Please join us as we come together to keep accelerating solutions to our clean energy future.
