News this spring that Shell's Arctic oil rig would be berthed in Seattle's public port quickly became a flashpoint for public criticism. It also shone a light on the workings of the Seattle Port Commission—a group of five elected officials charged with running the public port in the interest of the people of the region. The Port Commission's slogan is "Where a sustainable world is headed." With Shell's drilling fleet slated to return to Seattle later this summer, are we confident with the direction our Commissioners are leading us?
Join us on June 29th for a non-partisan candidate forum, at which we will hear directly from Port of Seattle Commission candidates about how they will address pressing environmental and economic issues facing the Port, including:

- Transparent government process
- Duwamish River and Superfund cleanup
- Competitive, living wage jobs
- Air pollution and traffic congestion
