Bio
Annika Berman is a Deputy Director of Strategy, Innovation, and Impact at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In this role, she helps lead the foundation's central strategy team and advises teams across global health and development, global policy and advocacy, and US education on the creation and execution of their strategies.
Previously, Annika has worked on program management, strategy, and delivery for a number of social enterprises and nonprofits, including household clean energy access with MicroEnergy Credits, global social entrepreneurship with Ashoka, and adolescent health with World Vision Honduras. She also served as a strategy and management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Early in her career, Annika taught environmental studies and math at an independent school in England and led wilderness adventure and service learning trips for teenagers with The Road Less Traveled. She earned an MBA at Stanford University and a BA in Economics at Yale University
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Annika enjoys spending her free time adventuring outside with her family, whether that’s backpacking in the wilderness or making yet another trip to the neighborhood playground.
