Bio

Erica Davis-Crump is a lifelong New Mexican, rooted in the rich, resilient soil of Tewa Territory, and a descendant of ancestors whose strength and spirit flow through her veins. Her lived experiences have ignited an unshakable commitment to reproductive justice, advocacy, and storytelling which fuel her commitment to create a more equitable world.

Erica’s activism within local and national movements have earned recognition in Forbes, and her perspective on women’s wellness and expertise on suicide prevention have been placed her on the TEDx stage twice. She finds deep joy in inspiring audiences to take care of themselves and their communities.

From 2020 to 2022, Erica made history as the first African American co-chair of the Respect NM Women & Families Coalition, where she championed reproductive healthcare access. In 2023 she galvanized Black New Mexicans to pass the nation’s most inclusive and expansive version of the Crown Act. She has been apart of many life affirming policies, and centers the most marginalized to amplify their voices in policies that impact every intersection. She is an alumni member of the Auburn Seminary Sojourner Truth Leadership Circle’s reproductive justice cohort, where she continues to weave the threads of liberation and policy change through the lens of reproductive justice.

Erica’s work is rooted in the belief that: *We are the medicine we need, and our stories hold the solutions for our futures.* Erica will continue to work alongside communities building a legacy of hope, healing, and transformative change.
