Bio

Vincent is a queer Asian American who grew up in South Seattle. He graduated from Garfield High School, attended the University of Washington, finally becoming the first person in his family to receive an advanced degree. He enjoys working in the field of Human Resources, where he seeks to create change in organizations to ensure that people from all different parts of life and with different life experiences, can show up to work being themselves.

Vincent adds: "One thing that my professors told me back in San Francisco was, 'The education that you gain here, you need to bring it back to your community and share it.' want to invest in my community to make sure that they have the support and the resources to succeed and thrive. I started working at a youth focused program in Seattle that introduced youth and me to the environmental field. I saw that there’s so much more that I can do in eliminating barriers for youth. I saw HR as that path; working in this field, I saw how HR wasn’t supporting people across the organization and only protected the people in power. I want to change that. My goal is to decolonize human resources to focus it more on the people than the organization. One thing that is missing in HR is the empathy, where departments value the person and their lived experiences. I joined Climate Solutions so that I can have the opportunity to do just that – Share my knowledge around Human Resources, but through an equitable lens. I also share with everyone that I am obsessed with corgis."
