This February, we have a huge opportunity for Oregon to take a bold step in the fight against climate change. State legislators are considering whether to pass the Clean Energy Jobs bill, and they need to hear from us that the answer is a resounding yes!
The Clean Energy Jobs bill limits Oregon’s rising climate pollution and accelerates our transition to 100% clean energy. More than 10 years in the making, it’s a smart program similar to successful programs already working in 10 U.S. states and in countries around the world. The bill strengthens Oregon’s economy and supports the urban and rural communities across Oregon that are most impacted by climate change.
The opposition is saying we should delay action until 2019, or longer. After the string of climate emergencies that hit our state last year, Oregon can’t afford to wait another year to tackle the climate crisis.
You can help by telling your legislator that NOW is the time for action on climate and clean energy. It’s time to pass the Clean Energy Jobs bill.
P.S. Save the date! The Clean Energy Jobs Day of Action is February 12 in at the State Capitol in Salem. Please join us!
