Hey Oregon, Speak up for Building Resilience! Email your Legislator

We think you’ll agree: Every single Oregonian deserves to be protected from the climate crisis.

This session, lawmakers have the power to move us toward that reality. By passing the Resilient, Efficient Buildings package, we can reduce climate pollution from our homes and buildings, protect families from extreme temperatures and wildfire smoke, and lower skyrocketing utility bills.

In the coming days, the state’s top budget writers will decide whether or not to invest in this cleaner, safer, more affordable future for Oregon families. We need to make sure lawmakers hear us loud and clear. Can we count on you to email lawmakers today and tell them that we can’t wait any longer for climate action?

There’s just so much on the line. Our homes and buildings not only leave us vulnerable to extreme weather, they are also the second largest source of climate pollution in Oregon. They are fueling a climate crisis that touches all of us but hits frontline communities — Black, Indigenous, people of color, low-income and rural communities — first and worst.

We have the power to do something about this. The Resilient, Efficient Buildings package will help more families access affordable upgrades to their homes, reduce climate pollution, lower utility bills, and ensure Oregonians are safe from the climate crisis. It’s a game-changer for our climate and our communities.

That’s exactly why Climate Solutions is proud to be one of the many organizations supporting The Resilient, Efficient Buildings package. This broad coalition includes groups that advocate for stable housing, immigrant and worker rights, racial and environmental justice, and so much more.

We hope you will join all of us in making sure lawmakers pass this critical package. Together, we can ensure that all Oregonians — no matter who we are or where we live — have a safe, affordable, and resilient place to call home.

Onward,
