What a great step forward! As you may have heard, Governor Inslee announced this week that he is taking steps to put a cap on carbon emissions in Washington State. This is a bold and important move towards effective climate action, and one that we strongly support.

This decision wouldn’t have been possible without the work of climate advocates like you. Together, we have worked in support of climate action that reduces carbon emissions, provides equity for those disproportionately harmed by climate pollution, protects public health, and stimulates investment in clean energy.

The Governor’s announcement yesterday lays a good foundation—and marks a serious commitment to do the whole job. We will continue our efforts as part of the Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy, to work for climate action that is effective, equitable, and ensures a just transition to a clean energy future.
