End Washington's unfair ban on direct EV sales

Did you know that Washington State BANS you from buying cars directly from any EV-only car manufacturer, such as Rivian?

Washington State law even bans test drives for cars available for purchase. You also can’t talk about pricing and financing, or buy them from a showroom. This makes it more difficult to get a clean car and cut climate pollution.

Only one company (Tesla!) gets to sell their cars and trucks directly—they have an unfair loophole. That means less competition, higher costs, and fewer choices.

We Need Your Voice!

Tell Your Legislators to End the Ban on Direct EV Purchases.

This month, lawmakers in Olympia are considering bipartisan legislation that would fix our laws, end the ban, and give Washingtonians the freedom to choose where and from whom they buy zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs).

Please take this critical and easy action and tell your legislators to expand access to ZEVs in Washington.

Washington is the ONLY STATE on the entire West Coast that bans consumers from buying directly from any zero-emission vehicle-only manufacturer. We need you and Washingtonians around the state to engage your state legislators and tell them to pass SB 5592 and HB 1721!

Thanks for adding your voice and joining Washingtonians across our state in calling for clean car choice in the Evergreen State!
